Part L: Calculations for new dwellings

To meet the requirements of Approved Document L1A, each new dwelling must be supported by a SAP calculation submitted to Building Control.
SAP (Standard Assessment Procedure) is the government’s approved method for evaluating the energy performance of residential buildings. Every new home must meet specific carbon, energy, and fabric efficiency targets set out in the regulations.

The SAP process is delivered in two key stages:

• Design Stage – assessing the proposed design and specification

• As-Built Stage – verifying the completed build
